We are excited to announce these new placement opportunities:
JustCause (Rochester, NY) - formerly known as Volunteer Legal Services Project of Monroe County. JustCause provides legal assistance to resolve serious civil legal problems free of charge. They are seeking student externs in the following areas:
- Health Unit (Wills, Powers of Attorney, Advanced Directives)
- Family Unit (Custody, Visitation, Divorce)
- Tenant Defense Project (TDP)
- 7th Judicial District Health Center (Virtual and In Person at the Hall of Justice)
Trillium Health, Inc. (Rochester, NY): Trillium began as a small HIV/AIDS clinic in the 1980s during difficult times and is proud of its legacy as the leading LGBTQ+ healthcare provider in Rochester. Today, Trillium is a Federally Qualified Health Center Look-Alike that provides extraordinary care for all, including LGBTQ+ health, ensuring equitable, judgement-free, and affordable care. Trillium offers a full complement of services, including: pediatrics, gynecological services; specialized HIV and hepatitis C co-infection and mono infection care; HIV/ sexually transmitted infections (STI) counseling, testing and treatment; pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) counseling and treatment; mental health services; pharmacy; access to laboratory services; case management; hormone therapy and liaison to pre- and post-surgical care for transgender people; nutrition counseling; treatment adherence counseling; HIV/AIDS Adult Day Health Program; vision screening; harm reduction (opioid overdose prevention, syringe exchange); programs for retention in care and adherence to treatment; consumer council; peer support groups; health outreach and prevention education; housing and transportation assistance; insurance enrollment; and emergency financial assistance. The student extern will work across Trillium’s Compliance, Privacy, Information Technology and Regulatory departments
Honorable Grace Hanlon [open to rising 3Ls only] - NY Supreme Court Justice who recently joined the bench in Chautauqua County (Mayville, NY). Judge Hanlon has a mostly civil calendar that includes, torts, contracts, property disputes( which mostly entail lakefront issues or gas and oil leases), guardianship cases and a smattering of criminal and matrimonial cases. She anticipates that by the fall she will have a large amount of criminal cases.
