SUMMER JOB OPPORTUNITY for 1L & 2L Students in the Virtual Discover Law Program

The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at The University at Buffalo School of Law is accepting applications for two (2) Virtual Resident Assistant (VRA) positions for the Discover Law Pre-Law Undergraduate Scholars (PLUS) Program. The RAs will serve as mentors to 20 PLUS Program Scholars, provide academic assistance, facilitate virtual study groups, and plan/lead virtual social events. The RAs will be on-call weekdays and for two weekends each during June, attend all virtual activities throughout the month of June, and assist with various student concerns in class. The time requirement is about 30 hours per week with some schedule flexibility.

Prior experience as a Resident Assistant is desired; candidates must have strong leadership skills and be comfortable with students of diverse backgrounds. RAs must be available May 26th – June 25th. Pay is $2,000.

The University at Buffalo School of Law, in collaboration with the Minority Bar Association of Western New York, Inc., secured a Presidential Circle grant to implement a Discover Law Pre-Law Undergraduate Scholars Program (PLUS) which targets to prepare underrepresented students to enter law school. Discover Law, a four-week virtual summer program for 20 academically promising college students, is currently in its tenth year.
