One of the examinations you need to pass be admitted to the bar as an attorney in New York is the MPRE (Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam). New York requires a scaled score of 85 (for New York). The MPRE may be taken during Law School.

The next MPRE test date is Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 9 a.m. This date is the last Saturday of Spring Break. The regular registration deadline is Thursday, January 24, 2019. The regular registration fee is now $125. Late registration deadline is Thursday, January 31, 2019. The late registration fee is $220. This MPRE is the last on before the July bar exam! [/color][/b]

All fees must be paid for by “credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover only) or by e-check.” (NCBE web site).

Dates for the 2019 MPRE are:

The MPRE is given in March, August and November.

The MPRE can be taken before or after the bar examination, however, the applicant must pass the MPRE within three years either before or after passing the New York bar examination, as measured from the date the applicant sat for each examination.

If you are planning to take the Massachusetts bar examination, or use your UBE score to be admitted in Massachusetts, you MUST take and pass the MPRE with a score of 85 BEFORE applying to take the Massachusetts bar exam or apply for admission using your NY UBE score.

You must now register for an NCBE (National Council of Bar Examiners) number in order to register for the MPRE. You will also need this number to register for the New York bar examination (the Uniform Bar Exam). While the MPRE is administered by LSAC, you must register though your NCBE (National Council of Bar Examiners) Account site at https://accounts.ncbex.org/php/ncbe_number/go and select “Register for the MPRE / Log in to MPRE Account.” If you already have an MPRE account with LSAC, it will transfer your to the MPRE account login page. If not, it will transfer you to the MPRE Account Creation page on the LSAC site. Create an account and log in. This site will enable you to select a test administration date, your preferred test center and the jurisdiction that should receive your score. You will receive a conformation e-mail of your registration after it is processed.

Scores

The MPRE is scaled on a range from 50 to 150. The passing score for New York is 85. Scores are typically released within five weeks from the date of the examination. Score are posted in your NCBE File Cabinet: https://accounts.ncbex.org/php/ncbe_num ... ileCabinet.

Sending score reports to multiple jurisdictions
You must submit all requests to send scores to another jurisdiction (than the one you designated when you registered) through MPRE Score Services at: http://www.ncbex.org/ncbe-exam-score-se ... -services/. The fee is $25 for an PRE Score report and $50 for an MPRE Score verification. It is payable by MasterCard and Visa only (like the NY Bar Exam).
