CONGRATS to your 2019 Student Commencement Speaker and Singer

Congratulations to both Melissa Kathan '19, who was chosen by a committee of 3L class representatives, to be your 2019 Student Commencement Speaker AND to Colin Knoer '19, who was also chosen, to sing the National Anthem and UB Alma Mater at the ceremony.

Again, your hooders, as voted on by the class, are Profs Matt Steilen, Christine Bartholomew, Bernadette Gargano and Rebecca French. The awards for the faculty and staff, who have done the most for the class as voted upon by the graduates, will be announced day-of. Your herald is Prof. Anya Bernstein and mace bearer is Prof. Errol Meidinger.

We are very excited that Hon. Maite Oronoz Rodríguez, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Puerto Rico, has accepted the Dean’s invitation to be your keynote speaker. We are pleased that William Savino ’75 will be receiving the Ken Joyce Teaching Award for his excellent in teaching as an adjunct, and Lt. Governor Kathy Hochul will be receiving the Dean’s Medal for her distinguished commitment to justice and the rule of law.
