Seeking Students to be Mock Jurors, Friday, October 7!

Post by AdvocacyInstitute »

On Friday October 7th, the New York State Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers is holding the finals of their year-long trial practice seminar Mock Trial. The finalists will face off in the Federal Courthouse in Buffalo. This trial will include all aspects of a real trial, including a jury that must be selected through voir dire. At the close of the trial, the jurors will deliberate and the jury’s deliberations will be observed on closed circuit TV by participants.

NYSACDL are in need of volunteer jurors for the event. It will be a terrific way for students to observe a mock trial as well as to experience being on a jury.

If selected, the jurors would be at the mock trial for the duration of the day starting at 8:30 and ending around 5. Lunch will be provided. Anyone not selected would be free to stay and observe or could leave right after the morning voir dire. They are looking for 10-15 volunteers.
