Info Needed for Virtual Commencement Ceremony on Sunday, May 17th

Post by Student Life »

In follow-up to UB President Tripathi’s recent announcement https://www.buffalo.edu/commencement.html about transitioning May 2020 commencement ceremonies to a virtual format, the School of Law will broadcast its virtual commencement ceremony at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 17.

Members of the Class of 2020 are encouraged to save the date so that graduates, their families, and friends can watch the initial broadcast. It will also be viewable on-demand at a later date and time. While we know a virtual ceremony cannot replace a live event, the law school is working with the University to make this a memorable celebration of our graduates’ achievements.

As part of the virtual ceremony, each graduate will be recognized with an official slide that can be customized with their photo and a personal message, and which can be downloaded and shared on social media. Details are due 5/1. Graduates will also be able to record their name pronunciation which will be customized on their slide, but they must submit information by Tuesday, 4/21.

Directions were emailed to graduating law students last week. For questions or if a graduate did not receive the email, please contact Amy Atkinson at aatkins@buffalo.edu.
