Study Climate Change Law and Policy in Katowice, Poland!

Climate change is the most pressing and complex environmental problem facing our planet. The course, LAW 819, focuses on law and policy issues that are involved in the regulation of climate change. By examining both U.S. and international law, students will learn about the causes and effects of global climate, study past and proposed actions, and investigate various legal tools such as cap-and-trade schemes, carbon taxation, command-and-control regulation, and voluntary action.

Following several weeks of coursework, students will travel to Katowice, Poland, to participate in the 2018 negotiations, representing either SUNY or an environmental NGO as accredited observers.
