May 21 - Lessons from 2008-2010: How to Succeed Despite a Brutal Job Market
The US entered a recession in 2008 that lasted until 2010. Job searching was brutal, and obtaining a good law job could be a battle. Folks had to be highly resilient and adaptable, and also had to learn how to develop, draw on, and work their personal networks.
Lessons from then apply directly to the current situation. Six alumni who graduated during those tough years-- and prospered in a variety of practices, despite the tanked economy-- will offer advice to the Classes of 2020-2022.
They are:
Joshua E. Dubs, of Webster & Dubs, P.C., Buffalo
Matthew Feldman, of Kieffer & Feldman, LLP, Buffalo
Jeffrey P. Gleason, of Delaware North Companies, Buffalo
Jennifer M. Oliver, of MogunRubin LLP, San Diego, CA
Jennifer M. Schauerman, of Woods Oviatt Gilman, LLP, Rochester
Jason Wawro, of Moog Inc., Buffalo
