Law school has taught you to think and communicate like a lawyer, and introduced you to much of the substantive law tested on the bar exam, but a bar preparation course is key to being fully prepared for the bar examination. A reliable and comprehensive bar preparation course is a significant investment, but an essential one. In cooperation with several major bar preparation companies (Helix, JD Advising, Kaplan, and Themis), UB School of Law aims to make sure that every summer bar examinee this year will have the benefit of a good quality bar preparation course. The bulk of course materials will be delivered over the summer, but all these providers offer early access to study materials starting in March or April, so you can enhance your study time.
In selecting recipients of these course scholarships, priority will be given to students who will most benefit, financially or otherwise, from receipt of a comprehensive bar preparation program at no charge to them. The scholarship application form, which can be accessed via LOCK at this link -- https://law-buffalo.12twenty.com/job-po ... 6701345301 -- is brief, and provides you with an opportunity to explain why you would benefit from a scholarship award. The more detail you can provide, the better. Relevant circumstances might include (but are not limited to):
- You cannot afford to purchase a bar preparation course
- You can only afford to purchase a course if you work over the summer when you should be studying for the bar
- You would particularly benefit from starting your bar preparation well before graduation
