4/7 deadline to apply for Pro Bono Scholars Program

Post by Undergraduate Law BA »

Would you like to spend the 2024 spring semester (your 3L year) practicing law in the public interest instead of sitting in the classroom?

• Are you interested in gaining practical skills training while you assist people who could not otherwise afford legal representation?

• Would being a "practice-ready" law graduate and expedited admission to the New York bar help you launch your legal career?

If you response to any of these questions is “yes,” then you may be interested in applying to participate in the Pro Bono Scholars Program

The Pro Bono Scholars Program is a program of the New York State Courts. Pro Bono Scholars take the New York bar examination early, in February rather than in July 2024. You then work full time in a legal services placement in your area of interest for the following twelve (12) weeks. Placements are available outside Buffalo. You also attend a weekly seminar with your fellow UB Law Pro Bono Scholars. If you pass the February 2024 bar examination, you will admitted to practice as an attorney in June 2024.

Information is on the School of Law's web site: https://www.law.buffalo.edu/beyond/pro- ... ogram.html
