Announcing our Summer 2018 Public Interest Fellows

Post by CSO »

Greetings!

On behalf of the Buffalo Public Interest Law Program (BPILP), we would like to thank everyone who supported this year’s Auction! Whether you attended the auction, bought a ticket or made a donation, it was one of our most successful auctions ever…even with the snow storm and UB closing, which we all know doesn’t happen too often. For those who were able to come to the auction, we hope you had fun and left with some cool stuff.

We would also like to thank the Law School Dean’s Office, the Development Office, the Career Services Office, the UB Law Alumni Association, and the Charles E. Mann Public Interest Award Fund; the remarkable leadership and members of BPILP; our very generous alumni, faculty, staff, student donors; and members of the legal community, who continue to be committed to public interest law.

Through this combined dedication and support, 43 projects are receiving funding this summer. These include the BPILP Fellows, several UB Law Alumni-Funded Fellows that BPILP helps to facilitate, four Catalyst Public Service Fellows, which is jointly funded by the law school and the New York Bar Foundation, five students receiving funding from the Buffalo Human Rights Center (BHRC), and nine students receiving funding from the Equal Justice Works AmeriCorps JD Program. Excitingly, UB School of Law has the most students enrolled in the AmeriCorps JD Program this summer.

Please join me in CONGRATULATING this year’s terrific summer public interest fellows!
