Changes to Selected Language Courses and Completion of the UB Curriculum Global Pathway

The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) considers the acquisition of language skills to be integral to higher learning, enhanced cognition, and cultural competency, skills that can dramatically increase employment opportunities across all disciplines. CAS is committed to increasing student access for all language courses campus wide. As such, CAS has made changes to the sequence of courses for selected languages so that classes now can be scheduled during standard times with greater predictability and frequency to increase student enrollment.

The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures (RLL) and the Department of Linguistics (LIN) will continue to use Avant PLACE exam scores for Chinese, French, Italian, and Spanish courses to ensure all students are enrolled at the appropriate level. Please use this link for more information.
