Pro Bono Scholars Program information session

Tuesday, February 18th at 12:15 - 1:15 pm in 509 O’Brian (Cellino & Barnes Conference Center).

- Would you like to spend the spring 2027 semester working in the public interest?

- Are you interested in gaining practical skills training while you assist people who cannot afford legal representation?

- Would expedited admission to the New York bar help you launch your legal career?

- Does taking the New York bar examination in February 2027, rather than in July, interest you?

If you response to any of these questions is “yes,” then you may be interested in participating in the Pro Bono Scholars Program.
  • Working full time as a student attorney assisting people who could not otherwise afford legal representation
  • Gaining valuable practice skills
  • Learning from experienced attorneys in practice
The Pro Bono Scholars Program also enables students to take the February 2027 New York bar exam, before graduation, and, when you pass, you will be admitted as an attorney in June 2027. The Pro Bono Scholars Program is a program of the New York State Courts. Students are selected by the School of Law and their applications are then submitted to the NYS Office of Court Administration for approval.

More information is on the Law School web site: https://www.law.buffalo.edu/beyond/pro- ... ogram.html. Applications for the Pro Bono Scholar Program are due in April of your 2L year. You may also contact Vice Dean Melinda Saran at saran@buffalo.edu or in 422 O'Brian for questions or more information.
