GRACE SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
The GRACE Scholarship was established by GRAWA to support underrepresented minority female students by assisting with covering the costs associated with entry requirements into law school including, but not limited to, Law School Admission Test (LSAT) registration fees, preparatory courses, and study materials. To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- 1. Be a woman or woman of color who has been historically underserved and/or be an underrepresented minority (as defined by New York State’s Office of General Services) in the legal profession.
- 2. Be a US citizen or permanent resident.
- 3. Be a graduate of a Greater Rochester Area high school or enrolled as a junior or senior at a local college or university or a graduate of a local college or university, as further defined below:
- a. The “Greater Rochester Area” is defined as the New York State counties of Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, and Wayne;
- b. “Local college or university” is defined as one of the following institutions: Monroe Community College, Finger Lakes Community College, Rochester Institute of Technology, University of Rochester, Nazareth University, Roberts Wesleyan University, St. John Fisher University, SUNY Brockport, or SUNY Geneseo.
- 4. Embody GRAWA’s mission.
- a. Display a passion for and/or commitment to fair and equal justice for all.
- b. Demonstrate commitment to community service and/or community involvement.
- 5. Demonstrate a financial need, as determined in the sole discretion of the Committee.
