Make sure you complete Bar forms for legal work or pro bono

Post by Pro Bono »

Did you do some legal work this semester? Did you do a Clinic Externship, or Practica? Were you a faculty research assistant?

Please make sure you complete a Pro Bono Form Affidavit (for pro bono legal work) or a Law-Related Affidavit (for paid, faculty research assistant, and other non-pro bono legal work). You MUST have your supervising attorney sign it, and YOU must keep it safe, in your possession, to be able to include the original with your application to be admitted to the bar after you take the bar exam.

Here is the link to the Pro Bono Form Affidavit: https://www.nybarexam.org/Admission/50H ... 7.2018.pdf

You do one or the other for each position – not both. Don't wait, as attorneys leave firms offices, and then you have issues. If you are still working at an office, you can wait until you leave or until you need to do the form for bar admission.
