Message from Bernadette Gargano, Vice Dean for Student Affairs
Dear Students,
Yesterday afternoon, UB President Satish Tripathi shared the news that a member of our university community has tested positive for COVID-19. This is the first confirmed case among the UB community, and the individual is in mandatory isolation in their off-campus private residence, as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). FAQs (https://www.buffalo.edu/coronavirus/faqs.html) related to this announcement are posted on the University’s Coronavirus Dashboard (https://www.buffalo.edu/coronavirus/dashboard.html).
We understand that this is an especially stressful time and that you have many concerns. Please remember that we are here to help you through this. We have resources in place to assist you, and we encourage you to take advantage of them:
- Visit UB’s Counseling Services webpage for updates on the hours of operation and services available, or call 716-645-2720.
- After-Hours Counseling - 716-645-2222 (Ask the UPD for the on-call counselor)
- Crisis Services - 716-834-3131
- Health Concerns - 716-829-3316 or your personal/family doctor
Please take some time to rest over the remainder of the spring recess. And as always, if you have any additional questions or concerns, feel free to contact me at 716-645-6223 or gargano@buffalo.edu.
