Complete NY Law Course & Register by May 12th to take July 11th NY Law Exam

You must complete the New York Law Course and register for the NYLE by TUESDAY, MAY 12, 2020 at 11:59 pm to take the next New York Law Exam (NYLE) on Thursday, JUNE 11, 2020 at noon EST.
The course consists of 15 – 20 hours of video lectures on New York subjects. Each one is 20 – 30 minutes. You can stop and start it. It does not need to be done in one sitting.
1. Go to: https://portal.nybarexam.org/ to register for the New York Law Course
2. After registering, you will receive a New York Board of Law Examiners identification number (BOLE ID). After completing the information on the accounts page, you can click on “New York Law Course” in your BOLE account.
3. New York Law Course format
a. 15 hours of videotaped lectures
b. Each section is 15 – 28 minutes.
c. Must answer imbedded questions – must be answered correctly to continue in the lecture.
d. Subject areas are the “important and unique aspects of New York law in the subjects of Administrative Law, Business Relationships, Civil Practice and Procedure, Conflict of Laws, Contracts, Criminal Law and Procedure, Evidence, Matrimonial and Family Law, Professional Responsibility, Real Property, Torts and Tort Damages, and Trusts, Wills and Estates.” (Question 7)

Information about the New York Law Exam
The deadline to register for the New York Law Examination is thirty (30) days before the New York Law Examination. Once you complete the New York Law Course (NYLC) successfully, you can register for the New York Law Examination.
You MUST have successfully completed the New York Law Course (NYLC) in order to register. This exam may no longer be during bar review due to the postponement of the July Bar Exam.
It is a fifty question multiple choice, open book exam. The fee is $27 for the NYLE to Examsoft. A passing score is thirty (30) out of fifty (50) correct.

Date of NYLE: September 24, 2020 12:00 pm
Finish NY Law Course & register by August 25, 2020 11:59 pm
Date of NYLE: December 17, 2020 12:00 pm
Finish NY Law Course & register by November 17, 2020 11:59 pm (This date will delay your admission to the bar of you pass the July 2020 bar exam).
