Three moves to make this week to propel your legal career

Post by CSO »

With the rapid shift to online education and remote work situations there are some steps you can take this week to move your career forward.

First, register and attend the Zoom Webinar “Ready for the New Normal? LinkedIn and Social Media Professionalism for 2020 and Beyond” on Wednesday, April 22nd at 12pm. Register here: https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_F3y ... HKT7n5fP6A LinkedIn is one of the most effective tools for lawyers to develop and maintain relationships, reach and serve others, stay abreast of industry developments, and connect with job opportunities. ClearView Social founder and CEO Adrian Dayton will share his tips on building a professional profile and using LinkedIn effectively.

Second, take some time to deepen your research skills and enhance your research effectiveness in the workplace by completing training modules in legal research. LexisNexis, for example, offers “Practice-Ready Certification,” which can become immediately helpful as you step into your first law job or internship. https://www.lexisnexis.com/en-us/lawsch ... /home.page

Third, explore remote opportunities. Paid and unpaid summer legal jobs are still available. The US Small Business Administration, for example, is recruiting thousands of law students and attorneys to help with handling the 1.5 million loans the agency has made during the pandemic. The work will be done 100% remotely. Details are available in LOCK: https://law-buffalo.12twenty.com/on-log ... 9904170918. (And legal recruiters are contacting prospective candidates through LinkedIn).

Be well,
