CONGRATULATIONS! UB Law Trial Team advances to semi-finals!!

UB Law trial team advanced to the semi-finals in the Syracuse National Mock Trial Competition this weekend!

A total of 22 teams competed this weekend in the Syracuse National Mock Trial Competition. In the preliminary rounds on Friday and Saturday, the team competed against Loyola LA , South Texas, South Carolina and South Dakota. Buffalo won 3/4 of those rounds, losing one by a hair. Buffalo ended up scoring 4th overall and advanced to semifinals.

Ryan Falk won the award for Best Cross Examination after the preliminary rounds, outperforming 88 other students for that honor.

Sunday morning, Mr. Caves and Ms. Fretwell competed against Loyola LA, the highest scoring team, with Mr. Falk and Ms. Kloch playing their witnesses. After a valiant effort and a close ballot, Loyola LA won and advanced over Buffalo.

Finally, April VanOrman served with distinction as our trial technician in every round. Without her, we would not have been able to do what we did!
