Introduction to Restorative Practices
(LAW 910LEC / #25178)

UB’s Introduction to Restorative Practices fully online (remote) course is a highly participatory class offered by the School of Law. Students will explore restorative justice, restorative and related practices, and have opportunities to put theory into practice. Restorative practices have roots in restorative justice, a way of looking at criminal justice that emphasizes repairing the harm done to people and relationships rather than only punishing offenders.
Embedded in this course is the full training in Introduction to Restorative Practices and Using Circles Effectively from the International Institute for Restorative Practices (IIRP), and students will receive completion certification from IIRP as part of this course.

The course has been designed to have students will work fully online. There will be once-a-week Zoom class meetings, weekly online units involving brief assigned readings/videos/etc., and multiple peer interactions through Colleague Learning Groups and weekly simulations.

Class Offered on Tuesdays from 9:00AM - 12:00PM
(1/4/2021 - 1/27/2021)
