Posted: Thu Jan 21, 2021 11:06 am
Do you want to learn how to interview clients to identify legal issues?
Do you want to complete the 50 hours of pro bono required for admission to the bar in New York?
Do you want to help real people with real legal problems who could not otherwise afford legal assistance or a lawyer?
Come to the Justice Bus trainings on Fridays, February 5th and 12th from 10 - 11:30 am on Zoom.
Learn from Neighborhood Legal Services attorneys how to do client intakes, and the laws relating to public benefits and housing law. Learn about landlord-tenant law from people who do this work every day.
NO obligation to sign up to do pro bono work, but we hope you will.
Register and obtain the Zoom link at https://buffalo.zoom.us/meeting/registe ... h8UO0F_iJ2
The Justice Bus is a van that brings legal services attorneys, private practice pro bono attorneys, paralegals and law students to sites where people who do not have access to justice are able to obtain legal service assistance. The bus (really a van) will travel to community sites where people are located who cannot access transportation to legal services office downtown. These sites include city and rural areas. Due to COVID, the Justice Bus is virtual through Zoom right now. For more information on the Justice Bus, go to https://nls.org/justicebus/
Questions about this program, pro bono in general or admission to the bar? Contact Melinda R. Saran, Vice Dean for Social Justice Initiatives at saran@buffalo.edu
