Mid-Morning Coffee Chats Series #2 - Criminal Law

For our next Coffee Chat, law students will have exclusive access to three successful alumni-leaders who will give law students tips on how to be successful in the field of Criminal Law.
In a roundtable discussion, alumni panelists will talk about various career paths and reveal tips for being successful in practice post-law school, as well as answer any questions students may have regarding their interest in the field. Our alumni guests will discuss the wealth of options out there in the field of criminal jobs – some of which law students may not have even thought about pursuing.
The alumni are:
Nicholas A. Romano ’13, Associate, Connors, LLP, and current member of the UB Law Alumni Association Board. He will discuss his work as a criminal defense attorney for a private practice firm. Nick will also discuss his role as Deputy Town Attorney - Town Prosecutor for the Town of Cheektowaga, New York, where he served from 2014-2017.
Steven C. Earnhart ‘14, Assistant District Attorney. He will talk about his work as an Assistant District Attorney for the Erie County District Attorney’s Office where he currently works as the Assistant Chief of The Buffalo City Court Bureau—which has the highest volume of cases in the Erie County District Attorney’s Office.
Matthew Turetsky ’14, Assistant County Attorney for Ontario County. He will discuss his employment as an Assistant Public Defender for the Ontario County Public Defender’s Office, where he represented indigent defendants in criminal cases from 2014 to 2018.
