2/22 deadline LawHelpNY - remote 50 hours of Pro Bono for Admission

LawHelpNY has opened our next LiveHelp Operator Volunteer application period for the schedule to start this March.

LawHelpNY.org is an online, legal-information website that provides referrals to free legal services for low-income and vulnerable people throughout the State of New York, self-help resources about legal rights on essential issues such as eviction, domestic violence, consumer debt and many other critical concerns, links to social services and government agencies, and information about the court system. LawHelpNY provides online real-time one-on-one chat assistance that can lead you to the legal information you most need.
The website is efficient and easy-to use and has the most comprehensive and up-to-date database of New York legal services providers available. LawHelpNY is a collaborative project of: the City Bar Justice Center, Legal Services NYC, Pro Bono Net, The Legal Aid Society, Volunteers of Legal Service, the Empire Justice Center, the Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York, the NY State Bar Association, Legal Assistance of Western NY and Legal Services of the Hudson Valley. Pro Bono requirement for Admission to the New York State Bar
You must complete 50 hours of pro bono service to be admitted to the bar in New York. You can also complete this service through a Law School Clinic, Practicum and most Externships. Applicants to the bar complete an Affidavit documenting their pro bono service which the applicant must submit at with their application for admission: https://www.nybarexam.org/Admission/F-B ... ents.pdf
