Looking for volunteers to assist with asylum project in Rochester

Post by Undergraduate Law BA »

Are you looking to develop your work skills while helping others?

We are looking for students to help individuals seeking asylum to Rochester. The current project is a change of venue project (changing the location of their court hearing). Students would be asked to interview the individual or family to help them answer the questions to write a change of venue motion. (Great legal skill building.) Students who are bilingual would be welcome to help interpret or to provide direct assistance.

To assist the Rochester Clinics, you should contact Brittany Long, Pro Bono Coordinator for Immigration at Just Cause. Her e-mail is blong@justcauseny.org. Students can register for the CLE: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/registe ... gistration or to participate in the change of venue Clinic for asylees, they can register: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIp ... g/viewform
