Looking for volunteers to assist with asylum project March 21st in Buffalo

Post by Undergraduate Law BA »

The New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC), in partnership with Justin for Migrant Families (JFMF), will be hosting our first Assessment Session for our hotel community members. During this Assessment Session, community members will work with an Application Preparer and Interpreter to complete a questionnaire that assesses their opportunities for immigration relief. These assessments will be reviewed by Supervising Attorney who will provide guidance for moving forward.

NYIC and JMFM are recruiting Application Preparers and General volunteers to help support our session. Volunteers will be provided with prep materials and receive same-day in-person training. This is a phenomenal opportunity to build our community networks and learn about the intricacies of the immigration system. They are also look for students to act as interpreters if they are interested (the needed languages being Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, French, Haitian Creole, Wolof, and Pulaar).

Date: March 21, 2024

Time: 930 am - 4:00 pm
