Door Decorating Contest

Deck the O'Brian Halls!!!
Decorating Days: November 1 – November 22, 2025
Winners Announced & Party: Monday, November 24, 2025 • 3:00–5:00 PM
Where: O’Brian Lobby
You know how we love contests, networking, and parties with great food and drinks! Connect with a student or group of students and join forces to decorate your office door(s). This is a great way for students to feel comfortable getting to know you and establish a relationship outside of the classroom (ya know, in case they need a job recommendation or something ;-))
Contest Rules:
• Each entry must include at least one UB Law student and one UB Law employee.
• Keep it safe — no tripping hazards, fire code violations, or damage to the building.
• Teams can start planning now and decorating beginning November 1.
• Decorations must be complete by noon on November 22.
• Register and then select your category by email when you have chosen (note that all doors will be eligible for Best Overall) no later than November 15, 2025
• 💰 The “Buy-In”:
This year, we’re adding a little holiday spirit for good!
Each participating team is asked to make a small “buy-in” donation of a new/unwrapped toy that will be donated to a local legal organization that works with children (details to follow).
It’s an easy way to give back while showing off your creativity and school pride.
An impartial panel of judges will wander through O’Brian on MONDAY, NOVEMBER 24 at 230 PM to score the doors and announce the winners at our Deck the O'Brian Halls Party!

✨ Best Law-Related Door
🌍 Best Use of Sustainable Materials
🦬 Best Buffalo-Themed Design
🪩The O’Brian Glow-Up (most dramatic transformation)
🔔Most Interactive Door
🏆 Best Overall (all are included in this category — and it will be by a student QR code vote from November 19-24)
THE PARTY:
Join us on Monday, November 24 from 3–5 PM in the O’Brian Lobby for hot chocolate, great food, prizes, and big laughs as we announce the winners and officially kick off the holiday season!
