Nothing but Bundt Challenge

What happens when a beloved national brand, a local UB alumni entrepreneur, and bold student thinking collide? In this Innovation Sprint, students will team up with Nothing Bundt Cakes—one of the fastest-growing dessert brands in the country—to explore fresh, creative ways to solve a real-world business challenge facing the brand. The specific problem statement is coming soon, but expect to tackle questions at the intersection of customer experience, growth, community engagement, and innovation—all grounded in a real Buffalo-based business owned by UB alumnus Jesse Imes. Your mission: generate and develop creative, actionable ideas that could help a national brand think differently, move faster, and stay ahead—while staying true to what makes Nothing Bundt Cakes special.
Life Between Lockwoods Challenge

Student teams from the University at Buffalo will take on a high-impact, competitive design challenge to reimagine Lockwood Library through innovation and collaboration. Participants will build skills in design thinking, project development, and customer discovery while working alongside UB librarians and industry experts to explore real-world challenges shaping the future of libraries and information systems.

EmpowHER Pitch is an empowering, high-energy pitch competition exclusively for female-identifying University at Buffalo students who are ready to share their ideas—whether that’s a business, side hustle, product, or concept still taking shape. Each participant will have 3 minutes to pitch their idea and inspire the judges with their creativity, innovation, and vision. Ideas at any stage are welcome—from early sparks to ventures already in motion.
