My name is Sara Denbo and I am your Student Services Librarian here at the UB Charles B. Sears Law Library. I'm looking forward to meeting you all at the section reveal, but in the meantime, I'm writing to let you know about a required Microsoft Word training for your Legal Analysis, Writing and Research (LAWR) course.
You should have received a message to your @buffalo.edu email address with details about activating your account with a company called Procertas, the platform hosting the training. Once your account is set up, you'll see a list of twenty or so modules. At the top of the list is a Tutorial module--we recommend spending a minute or two completing the Tutorial module first so that you're familiar with downloading and uploading documents on Procertas. At this time, your LAWR professors are asking you to complete just one module, 1L LAWR Word Skills, which is about two-thirds of the way down the list. You are welcome to complete additional Word modules, as well as those on Excel, but only the 1L LAWR Word Skills module is required. Before beginning your training, we recommend downloading the latest version of Microsoft 365 (free to you as a UB student!) from UB IT: https://www.buffalo.edu/ubit/service-gu ... ading.html

Please complete this module by the start of the second week of Orientation, Monday August 24.
If you have any questions about the training, the Law Library, or anything else, please do not hesitate to reach out: saradenb@buffalo.edu. I can't wait to meet you all soon!Note for Mac Users: The system should prompt you to choose your operating system during account set up, but if you need to change your operating system, please click on the Settings option that appears when you hover your mouse over your email address in the top right corner of the page.
Thanks,
Sara
