Reminder: NY Law Exam, MPRE & Bar Exam deadlines

To be admitted to practice in New York State, you must pass the:)

1. Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (MPRE) : pass with a score of 85
within three years of admission; and

2. New York Law Course (NYLC) : complete online thirty (30) days before
registering for the New York State Law Exam (NYLE); and

3. New York Law Exam (NYLE) : take online and pass with a score of at least 30
out of 50; and

4. Uniform Bar Examination (UBE): take in July or February (after you graduate)
and pass with a score of 266 or more; Register NOW! Registration for the July 2019 NY Bar Exam (UBE) ends Tuesday, April 30th at 11:59 pm and

5. Application for Admission to Practice: complete the Character & Fitness
process(after the bar exam).

New York Law Course (NYLC) and New York Law Examination
(NYLE) Dates and Deadlines

The deadline to register for the New York Law Exam (NYLE) is thirty days before the exam.

You must complete the fifteen (15) hour New York Law Course (NYLC) to be eligible to register for the exam by that deadline.

The NYLE is a fifty (50) question, right answer, multiple-choice examination given on a particular Thursday at noon, using Examsoft. It is an open book examination based on the New York Law Course. A passing score is thirty (30) out of fifty (50) correct. You receive your score within a few weeks after the exam.

MPRE test date: Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 9 a.m.
You must be at the testing site by 8:30 am.

Regular registration deadline ($125): Thursday, June 13, 2019.
Late registration deadline ($220): Thursday, June 20, 2019.

Last 2019 MPRE test date: Saturday, November 9, 2019.

Regular registration deadline ($125): Thursday, September 19, 2019.
Late registration deadline ($220): Thursday, September 26, 2019.

2020 MPRE administration dates have not been announced yet.
