Need money? NYS Bar Foundation Scholarships

Do you need money? The New York Bar Foundation offers generous named scholarships for which you may apply.

The Real Property Law Section Melvyn Mitzner Scholarship - $5,000
- 2L or 3L student
- minimum of 3.0 GPA
- preference for a student who has financial need

Recipient becomes a guest member of the NYSBA Real Property Section for the 2020 calendar year and is invited to work on one of the Section's Committee or Task Force projects.

The Real Property Law Section Lorraine Power Tharp (LPT) Scholarship - $5,000
- 2L or 3L student
- minimum of 3.0 GPA
- preference for a student who has financial need

Recipient becomes a guest member of the NYSBA Real Property Section for the 2020 calendar year and is invited to work on one of the Section's Committee or Task Force projects. Als invited to the Annual Meeting of the Section in NYC in January 2020.

The Honorable Joel K. Asarch Elder Law and Special Needs Section Scholarship - $2,500
- 2L or 3L student
- must perform other substantial efforts which demonstrate interest in the legal rights of the elderly, or disabled, or the practice of elder law. (Did you volunteer, work or are you an extern at Center for Elder Law & Justice?)
- preference to a student with a present and permanent disability
- preference for a student who has financial need

Recipient becomes a guest member of the NYSBA Elder Law Section for the 2020 calendar year and is invited to work on one of the Section's Committee or Task Force projects. Also invited to the Annual Meeting of the Section in NYC in January 2020 to receive the award.
