The Road to Brown w/ Prof. Gardner Wed. 9/18 @ 5pm & The Loving Story w/ Prof. Boucai on Wed. 10/23

Hi everyone,
Please join Professor Gardner and the Univesity Libraries for a free screening of The Road to Brown on Wednesday, September 18th at 5:00 PM in the Silverman Library (Capen Hall) Room 310. The film tells the story of the legal assault on segregation that led to the landmark 1954 Brown v. Board of Ed. decision, which held that segregated public schools are "inherently unequal." Prof. Gardner will provide commentary on the film and light refreshments will be served.
Also, on Wednesday, October 23rd at 5:00 PM in Silverman 310, Prof. Boucai will be providing commentary following a free screening of The Loving Story, which tells the story of a Virginia couple whose triumph at the Supreme Court struck down anti-miscegenation laws and secured the right for interracial couples to marry. Light refreshments will also be available courtesy of the University Libraries.
