00:00:02 - Choosing to go to UB Law

Play segment

Partial Transcript: In 1947, just out of the Navy, I could not afford to go out of town to law school, even with the G.I. Bill. I was in the first graduating class (1950) from the building at 77 Eagle Street after it was built in. I remember a great deal about then Professor Hyman and Dr. Lenhoff, whose voices rang through in the Bar Exam.

Partial Transcript: I graduated in '50 and started to practice law with Richard Lipsitz. It's now Lipsitz Green Scime & Cambria, with over 60 lawyers. Back then we had a mimeograph machine, typists worked with carbon paper, and Dick Lipsitz and I shared a desk. A real estate closing was a few sheets of paper and a very narrow file. I used to try a case that took three days. None of that is true anymore.

00:03:43 - UB Law a great school

Play segment

Partial Transcript: There's no question about UB Law education being very good. I started with a class, most of whom had been in the military and were older than the average law student. We worked hard because it was expected and many had families. Question: What would you say to a student coming to UB Law School today? Mr. Green: Take very seriously what you want to do in the practice of law. The concept of trial practice is so different than it was 57 years ago.
