Segment Synopsis: Was son of dentist of Burlington, VT. Moved at 29 when he came to Buffalo. Went to UVM. Transferred government worker, inspector at Peace Bridge. Wanted to finish education. Took LSAT, applied to law school without degree, accepted. Feared failure. First year UB Law was part of SUNY. Tuition affordable. Married and had three kids. Enrolled as 4 year student. Eagle Street campus. Wife and children supported him. About 130 enrolled. Most accepted and many lost through attrition. Class graduated 66. Dean Hyman, then William Hawkland who taught uniform commercial code. 4 women. Delores Denman was classmate. Fondest memory? Law Review, Moot Court, Trial Technique. Sol Towster excellent faculty. Related to class of '65 and '66, stays in touch. Worked full time during law school. Achievement? Clerk to court of appeals judge, took Matt Jasen's job after he was elected. Officer of Bar Association. Private practice. Joined Moot and Sprauge for almost 25 years. Kavinoky Cook after that and retired. Would do it again. Daughter decided to go into law. Advice? Get out into community and make contacts and acquire clients, also do CLE.
