Segment Synopsis: Background, grew up in Buffalo, 1 older sister, 1 younger brother, North Park Academy, Hutch Tech for engineering, SUNY Fredonia for undergrad, Rutgers for Masters, SUNY School of Law. Programming and public service, clinics. Did not know lawyers growing up, no perceptions. Never planned on being a practicing attorney, wanted to be a professor. Experience teaching at the law school. Learning how to teach. Dean was David Filavaroff. Significant number of women, not many women of color. Legal Studies Program for recruitment for students of color. Students of color may not know the opportunities of UB School of Law. Pipeline programs in schools to increase interest in Law. Mentoring program. Expectations versus reality. Member of minority Bar Association. James Davis, Jeanette Ogden, Judge Green have been mentors. Favorite class was classes with Dr. Ewing. Criminal law fan. Fondest memory was being there at UB Law.

Segment Synopsis: Fondest memory of law school is being intellectually challenged. Lifelong friends from law school, one she vacations with. One Godmother to son. Assistant US Attorney is dream job. Patrick Nemoyer hired her. Do a clerkship. Private practice experience at Hiscock and Barclay (now with Damon Morey). Working AUSA best job in criminal law, case from inception to completion with federal resources to assist. Teaches trial techniques and took the class from Judge Hugh Scott. Law is a skill like teaching someone to drive, need to actually do it. Mentors young attorneys. Still appears before Judge Scott who reminds her. Works through law school. Worked for Judge Mattina in Surrogate court. Summer associate at Hodgson Russ. Professional opportunities have decreased. Remember your reputation is everything! Also preparation and diligence. Would be a professor if not a lawyer. Personally fulfilled by being a public servant and help them, loves putting cases together, figuring it out. Legacy and how she wants to be remembered.
