Segment Synopsis: From Buffalo, grandfather was professor of medicine and father was physician, Mother from NYC. Went to Riverside HS, University at Michigan undergrad, wanted to be a crypto-analyst during Vietnam. Applied to UB Law, accepted didn't pay deposit. Medical deferment. Father sold a painting and paid deposit.Eagle Street campus, 120 students, 50% women. Fondest memory? Lived at home, had a female study partner. Camaraderie. Moot Court. Did not work clerkships in summers. Clerked for Family Court in Erie County. Administrative law and now transactional law. Moved to Phoenix, AZ, fall 1971. A judge there took him in. Took a clerkship in court of appeals. Had own firm for 3 years, then in-house attorney, then built up sole practice 10 years. Then to state board of education. Franchising attorney. Would do law again. Enriched his life. Advice? Follow passions. Get good grades, work hard. Eagle Street Campus was deficient. Amherst beautiful. Professor Homburg, Laufer very dramatic. First time back to UB Law. Encouraged daughter to law, children chose different path. Worked hard and travel often. Make time for family. Favorite professor? Goldstein, others were great. Loved Jack Hyman.
