Segment Synopsis: Born and raised in Lancaster, NY. St Mary's HS, Canisius College, became a police officer while preparing for law school in 1963, publicity director for Canisius College sports. Grandfather went to Fordham, father to SUNY Law School, godfather and father's law partner went there too. Thought about teaching. Police officer in Depew for 7 years. Ran for assembly in 1972. Dislike of Rockefeller. Law school was on Eagle Street. Dean Sample. Class of 1966. Students 105, 80some graduated. Women, not much diversity. Dolores Denman was close friend. Fondest memory? Involved in other things. Got into school politics and became president of student bar. Many successful classmates. Assemblyman and then state senator. Law School preparation, excellent education. Excellent professors and instruction. David Jay and he did stuff with City of Buffalo. Much community involvement. Role of Law School, regional law school rooted in WNYS. Would have spent less time with police department and student government. Advice? Be part of your class and institution. Pride in roots. Proud of UB Law. Network.
