Show Support #UBClassof2020 Sunday, May 17 3p Virtual Ceremony

Post by Student Life »

Dear Students,

We are preparing to celebrate the Class of 2020’s Virtual Commencement that will take place on Sunday, May 17th at 3 p.m. You will be able to watch the broadcast online. [View the Ceremony: http://www.buffalo.edu/commencement/cer ... s/law.html]

While this is not the format that we had all expected, we are committed to making the day special and ensuring that your classmates feel appreciated. And we need your help to do it!

Here’s how YOU can help:

1. Write your own message and include words of encouragement/congratulations for your classmates.

2. Post your message/s to your personal social media account. Be sure the message is public, and please use the following hashtags at the end of your message:

#UBClassof2020 (primary hashtag)
#UBLawGrad2020 (secondary hashtag)

Using these hashtags will ensure your posts are seen by the larger UB community.

Messages posted to Twitter or Instagram during the virtual ceremony at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 17th will be pulled into our virtual ceremony’s web page http://www.buffalo.edu/commencement/cer ... s/law.html, if they include the hashtags above.

You can also post your messages to Facebook or LinkedIn in the days leading up to Commencement or throughout the ceremony. Be sure to include our hashtags so we can find your posts and possibly share them.

Are you friends with 2020 grads on social media? Tag them as well in your post!

Examples:
• Congratulations John Doe – recipient of the Jane Doe Scholar Award! #UBClassof2020 #UBLawGrad2020

• A shout out to my TA – Courtney. We could not have gotten through LAWR without you! #UBLawGrad2020! #UBClassof2020

• Thank you, Sam, President of XYZ club for your leadership this past year! #UBLawGrad2020! #UBClassof2020

We encourage you to post messages that are prideful, inspirational, and positive - honoring and celebrating our graduates. Your classmates will enjoy hearing from you and will appreciate your support. (Please remember to use appropriate language and avoid any reference to alcohol.)
