CONGRATULATIONS TO UB'S JESSUP INTERNATIONAL LAW MOOT COURT TEAM!
From February 18-February 20, UB's Jessup International Law Moot Court team participated in the US National competition to determine which law schools would represent the United States at the international rounds of the competition. 85 schools and over 325 students from across the country competed. Although the team did not advance in the competition, they went 2-2, only 1 win away from advancing to the knockout rounds. The team was made up of Deborah Amponsah ('22), Gregory Goujon ('22), Scott Fogel ('23), and Julia Merante ('23). Julia Merante received the award for 30th best oralist in the United States and Gregory Goujon scored just .6 points away from receiving one of the top 50 oralist awards.
Tryouts for next year's Jessup team will take place in the morning on April 23, 2022 . Tryouts are open to 1Ls and 2Ls and do not require any knowledge of international law. Students selected to participate on the Jessup team are automatically enrolled in the 3-credit International Legal Advocacy class, which will be scheduled based on the team's availability. More information about the tryouts will be distributed, but students can email SUNYBuffaloJessup@gmail.com with any questions or to express interest in trying out.
