Attention School of Law Students,

Due to several misconfigurations associated with the Law Mobility Print system, the Law IT Department will be resetting the quota of all students on February 13, 2023 to $5.50 to last until end of this academic year, August 1, 2023, after that date the system should be functioning as originally intended so that the quota is properly reset on an annual basis and will properly limit one’s printing after their quota has been exhausted.

A few reminders about this system as we’ve received several questions when fixing issues with the current implementation:

• Law Mobility Print is an annual quota that is given as a tertiary print option. The University WEPA printers should be used as your primary print option and the O’Brian Lexis printers should be used for cases, articles, briefs, etc that are found on services like Lexis and Westlaw as these printers offer unlimited free printing. Material found on other sites should be opened in Lexis+ and printed, instructions to do this can be found here Free to Print Lexis Research to Lexis Printers
• The $5.50 quota associated with the Law Mobility Print quota uses an internal value per page that does not match WEPA costs. The $5.50 quota equates to 500 pages, not 60.
• Unfortunately, due to limitations with the Mobility Print client you are billed for failed attempts, so if you experience any issues with printing, please contact Law IT to refund your job and to fix the printer for yourself and others. Attempting to reprint a failed document will most likely result in the same error and subsequent charges to your account.
• Law Mobility Print does not give an error message when you’ve reached your quota and try to print, it simply won’t print. The system now sends emails when you get below $0.50 and you can always check your quota here: Law Mobility Print Account

If you have any questions please contact the Law IT Department.

Thank you,
