Registration is now open for the 2023 Charles S. Desmond Moot Court Competition!

Hosted annually by The Buffalo Moot Court Board, this years competition is scheduled for October 26th-28th. Desmond offers second and third year students an opportunity to get involved in moot court and advanced their advocacy and writing skills. Competing in Desmond makes you eligible to serve on the Buffalo Moot Court Board in the future.

Competitors will argue an unsettled, timely, and important legal question by submitting a brief and participate in oral arguments judged by accomplished attorneys, judges, and professors from Western New York. Awards will be presented to the winning team, best brief, best oralist, and more!

You do not need to be enrolled in Introduction to Appellate Advocacy to compete in Desmond.

Interested 1Ls, 2Ls or 3L may time keep for this years competition. Time keepers will be in the room as competitors complete their oral arguments. As a time keeper, you'll gain valuable experience on the nature of moot court and have an idea if you'd like to compete in Desmond in the future.
