Free EBook Guide

Post by student svcs lib »

Hello Law Students!

It's that time of year again. It's ebook time!

The Law Library has put together a list of your required textbooks by class! It is available for:
1Ls here: https://research.lib.buffalo.edu/1LFallCoursebookGuide
Upper-Level students here: https://research.lib.buffalo.edu/upper- ... coursework

These guides include links to the various online retailers, the University Bookstore, and when available, links to free electronic copies provided by the Law Library. Coursebooks available on Lexis Digital Library or West Academic should already be accessible on the linked pages.

For Aspen published titles, your books will be uploaded directly to your BrightSpace course page. Additionally, just like last semester, Aspen/Wolters Kluwer offers the option to receive a loose leaf copy of your textbooks for $49+ shipping. You can also receive loose-leaf copies of books that are not in our collection for $99+ shipping. Ordering information can be found here: https://survey.zohopublic.com/zs/ogBT7L

For titles available through the Lexis Nexis Digital Library, you may be prompted to enter our Library Access Code. If so, it is Buffalolaw, all one word with a capital "B."

For book published by West Academic. Make sure to use the url: https://eproducts.westacademic.com/ to access your books. If you have not already registered for an account, also be sure to use your UB email address.

Finally, regarding print textbook access, the Law Library does offer access to physical copies of some required 1L coursebooks as well as some upper-level coursebooks for in-library use only. One copy will be placed on the 5th floor of the Law Library and available for reading inside the library without check out. The other copy will be located behind the Service Desk on the 2nd floor and will be available for a 2 hour loan. These may be used within the library only. We also have scanners on the 2nd and 5th floors if you would like to scan your readings ahead of time.

I hope you will find the Textbook Guide useful as you work on compiling your course materials, and that you will make use of our electronic resources and print Course Reserve Collection once classes begin. Remember, The Textbook Guide is a work-in-progress, so please check back periodically for updates. If you see a class or title missing, be sure to email me for further information!

As always, if you have any questions, please let me know!
Best,
Austin
