Advocacy 101 Workshop
Wednesday, April 30th at 4:30pm
Clemens Hall 708 on North Campus
This Advocacy 101 Workshop provides students the opportunity to learn from experienced advocates about what it takes to change laws and policies. Participants will learn about government and politics in Buffalo and Erie County, including how to discover who holds power over your issue inside and outside of government. PPG will share tips for bringing your advocacy issue to elected officials and government staff, and how to build community change coalitions of supporters and partners. The workshop will share real examples of advocacy “wins” from the work of PPG in Buffalo and Erie County, such as winning a climate emergency declaration, ending predatory ticket fees, and adopting stronger rights for immigrants and refugees.
Food will be provided!
