Any 1Ls or current 2Ls interested, please apply by submitting a résumé and 500 word interest statement about why you fit the position. You may apply for more than one position, and simply list your preference order. All positions are open for 2021-2022 (current Board members must re-apply). We will accept applications via the email listed below, in pdf format, until April 11th at 11:59 PM. An electronic election will run from April 12th through April 16th. Voting members, which include any ACS students/faculty/staff at the University of Buffalo, will make their choices based on seeing all of the applicants' résumés and interest statement/s. About ACS: The American Constitution Society (“ACS”) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization. We believe that the Constitution is “of the people, by the people, and for the people” and interpret the document based on its text and against the backdrop of history and lived experience. Through a diverse nationwide network of progressive lawyers, law students, judges, scholars and many others, we work to uphold the Constitution in the 21st Century by ensuring that law is a force for protecting our democracy and the public interest and for improving people’s lives.
Our past events include: a Statehood Series (including discussion on Puerto Rico, Washington D.C., and Tribal Sovereignty); a discussion around recommitting to democracy; panels on transparency and civil rights; a celebration of 100 years of women's right to vote; and many other current topic events, workshops, and roundtables.
