The start of another academic year is just around the corner and we have much to look forward to!

As we return to on-campus learning this fall, we also plan to return to an in-person Orientation with the first day on Monday, August 23rd when we will greet the Class of 2024 as well as our new two-year J.D., transfer, and LL.M. students. We also have a few events to (finally) welcome the rising 2Ls, who had limited opportunities to gather and meet faculty and staff when they joined our community in the fall of 2020.

We hope you will join us at any or all of the events below as we welcome them to the UB School of Law family!

New Student Welcome Events
9 a.m. – 9:45 a.m. – Meet & Greet with Coffee and Light Breakfast at the Center for the Arts (CFA)
Informal mix and mingle to welcome our new students to law school.

10 a.m. – 11 a.m. – Dean’s Welcome and Remarks from the Faculty (CFA)
A presentation to the students in the Center for the Arts Screening Room featuring a Welcome from the Dean and short remarks from members of the faculty and administration.

12:00 noon – 1 p.m. – Lunch at the Center for the Arts (CFA)
A sit-down lunch with our new students where you will answer student questions regarding law school or discuss your role at the law school. (Please report to CFA at 11:45 a.m. If the previous session concludes early, we will start lunch early.)

3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. - Library Welcome on the 2nd floor of the Law Library
More opportunity to interact informally with the new students before classes begin.

Law Alumni Association’s Welcome Reception for the Classes of 2023 and 2024
5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at the Center for the Arts (CFA) ~ note NEW location to accommodate additional students
Get to know our new students, as well as our rising 2Ls, at a cocktail reception with members of the Law Alumni Association and GOLD Group boards of directors, as well as our local judiciary.

Rising 2L Welcome to O’Brian Lunch
12:15 p.m. – 1:15 p.m. in the 2nd floor of the Law Library
Help us (finally) welcome the Class of 2023 – our rising 2Ls – to O’Brian Hall with lunch and a chance to meet their fellow classmates in person and get to know our amazing faculty and staff!
