DEADLINE - 10/31 - February 2025 Bar Exam Application

If you are a Pro Bono Scholar, or are graduating this winter, and you plan to take the February 2025 NY Bar Examination, this is a brief reminder for you that registration for that exam closes on Thursday, October 31, at 11:50 p.m.. There is no late registration, so do not miss this deadline!

You can find the link to the application to take the NY Bar Exam on your account page with the NY Board of Law Examiners (BOLE) at https://portal.nybarexam.org/ . You must have a BOLE account to apply, and if you do not already have a BOLE account, you can create it quickly (via the "Create BOLE Account" link on that same web page) as long as you also already have a National Conference of Bar Examiners (NCBE) account. If you have taken the MPRE, which is administered by the NCBE, then you already have an NCBE account.

If you do not have an NCBE account, you can create one quickly via the "Create an Account" link on this page: https://auth.ncbex.org/login . Once you have your NCBE account, write down your NCBE account number, which you must provide in order to create your BOLE account.

Once you have created your BOLE account, you can access the application link from your account page. The application to take the February 2025 NY Bar Exam is not complex, but there is a form on which you will be asked to list the number and types of credits you expect to receive upon graduation from law school. Don't let this form intimidate you! You can easily pull this information from your online record with the Registrar. And do not worry about making a mistake -- this form is just a preliminary summary, and any errors will be fixed when the Registrar completes the final version of the form shortly before you take the bar exam.
